My Shoutcast server is not showing up in the public directory

Procedure for getting your station listed in the Shoutcast directory.

Make sure you've filled out all required fields

To be listed in the Shoutcast directory, you must have a number of fields accurately filled out. To get started, login to Centova Cast through the Client Portal or the URL that was sent to you in the welcome email.

  1. Select Configure Server or Settings in the sidebar
  2. On the first tab titled "Stream", ensure that the Title, Email Address, Company/Organization and Website/URL are all filled out accurately
  3. Switch to the AutoDJ tab (if using AutoDJ) and ensure your Genre is specified correctly.

Configure as a Public Server

Step 1: Enable Public Stream

  1. Login to the Client Portal and choose the option to log in or access Centova Cast using the URL specified in your welcome email.
  2. Select "Settings" in the left hand sidebar under "Configuration"
  3. Choose the "Shoutcast" tab
  4. From the Public Server drop down, ensure this is set to Always.

Step 2: Configure Details / UVOX Cipher

To obtain a unique authentication key you must have a source (such as your live stream or AutoDJ) correctly connected to the stream.

You now need to register for an account at shoutcast.com.  We suggest signing up for the Freemium version, create a station, then click on settings, then advanced which will give you the Authhash.

Once you have a source connected you are steaming to the server, proceed with the following steps within Centova Cast:

  1. In the Centova Cast control panel, click on Settings, then click on Stream. Click the icon next to Administrator password to view your admin password and make a note of it.
  2. In Centova Cast admin sidebar on the left, under Server, click Admin to load the Shoutcast panel in a new tab.
  3. Click the 'Server Login' link in the upper right corner and enter 'admin' as the username and the password you have just obtained from Centova Cast.
  4. Under the currently active stream that you wish to make public, enter the Authhash you obtained from shoutcast.com and click save.

Restart the Stream

Once you've completed the above steps, make sure that you have restarted the stream in order for the changes to take effect. In Centova Cast, choose "Restart Server" in the lower left corner. The reload option may not work, so be sure to choose restart.

Wait 24 hours

You may need to wait as long as 24 hours for the Shoutcast directory to receive and approve the information about your new station. Please be patient and wait the full 24 hours before submitting a support ticket.
